The All Abilities Club Mentor Project

Our mentoring project supports local sport and recreation clubs to establish and sustain All Abilities skill development programs for children with additional support needs.

Clubs received specialised training for coaches, delivery resources and initial support to plan sessions and run programs.

In 2023, the following clubs have established Inclusion Programs:

Standing Together Against Racism in Sport

Racism in sport at both elite and grassroots levels is all too common and limits participation by people from minority ethnic groups.

The STARS project emerged with the aim of co-developing an anti-racism intervention led by the University of Melbourne, in partnership with Welcoming Clubs, Merri Health and Merri-bek City Council and a number of sports clubs.

Our work is conducted on the stolen lands and waters of First Nations representing hundreds of clans and language groups. We acknowledge that our lives have benefitted from theft and dispossession and that we have a responsibility to support the efforts of Indigenous peoples as they work towards self-determination, sovereignty and land back. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.

Always was, always will be Aboriginal Land.
